Since December 2011, the Burnaby Neighbourhood House has been dedicated to empowering English speakers through its Community Adult Literacy Program.
This program supports English speakers who need help with essential reading and writing skills by pairing them with a trained tutor. They meet once a week for two-hour sessions.
Before joining the program, participants are assessed to identify their goals and develop an individualized plan to support their progress.
